Welcome to

North Houston 4-H

4-H is the largest youth service organization in the country. Our club serves homeschool students ages

8-18 in the North Houston (Harris County) area. Club members meet on the 4th Friday of each month.

Personal Growth

4-H helps young people build life skills, confidence, and character through hands-on experiences. It’s not just about projects (like animals or robotics); it’s about who you become while doing them.

Leadership

In 4-H, leadership is a major focus—it’s about learning how to guide others, make decisions, and take responsibility in real situations, not just talking about it.

Service

A core value in 4-H is giving back while learning valuable life skills. It’s not just volunteering—it’s understanding needs in your community and taking action to make a difference.

Choose your project(s)

Members select projects that they are interested in learning about and attend monthly project meetings (4th Friday of each month). Students may also have the opportunity to compete in competitions throughout the year including Harris County and District 9 competitions.

High school students have the opportunity to compete at Texas 4-H Roundup held each June at Texas A&M

in College Station.

Nutrition &

Food Challenge

Food Challenge is a hands-on cooking and teamwork competition where members create a dish under pressure using mystery ingredients—kind of like a real-life cooking show. Students learn about nutrition and practice public speaking skills as well.

STEM: Lego Robotics & Rocketry

4-H LEGO Robotics is a popular project where members design, build, and program robots using LEGO SPIKE Prime systems.

Rocketry combines hands-on building with real science concepts—giving you a practical introduction to how rockets and space technology work.

Archery

Archery is a structured shooting sports project that teaches much more than just hitting a target—it focuses on safety, discipline, and personal responsibility.

Leadership & Public Speaking

These projects go hand in hand because being a strong leader often means clearly sharing ideas, guiding others, and speaking with confidence.

This area focuses on:

Leading groups, meetings, or projects

Communicating ideas clearly to others

Building confidence when speaking in front of an audience

Representing your club or county at events
